Choice Project

The current food system forces consumers to make a tough decision: quality or convenience? Either pay high prices and long waits or choose the easy option and risk your health. The space reflects the purpose of the restaurant and its philosophy. Its patterns, materials and textures reflect the food it offers - colourful, fresh and natural.
The space is to contradict and mock the qualities that a common fast-food restaurant has. It is to mock its bold and eye-catching colour usage but contradict the feel but being subtle and using natural materials.

I would say that I have a pretty versatile style, but a lot of my inspiration stems from my diverse upbringing in Kenya, and multicultural background. Colours, textures, graphics and sourcing are some of the key elements that define me as a designer.
One of the key drivers through my design process, and something that's very important to me is being conscious of cultural appropriation; I attempt to create spaces and designs that are authentic, without having to compromise the original morals and values.
